Tuesday 21st April 2020
Dear Parents and Carers – We are now settling back into the Summer Term and I hope you are finding home learning to be successful. If you need any advice or support then please contact your child’s class teacher. They can help you via the DoJos or a member of the Senior Leadership Team can contact you directly if you need assistance.
The ‘Oak National Academy’ was launched on Monday 20th April and there are a number of resources on here each day which you could use to supplement your child’s learning. We will not be setting these as daily tasks as we already have in place a very successful weekly timetable which is planned by our staff and therefore link directly to the needs of the children in each class. Each day your child’s class teacher will set:
1 English based task (Reading Comprehension, Grammar and Spelling task or a writing outcome)
2 – A My Maths task.
3 – 2 enrichment tasks which will link to other subject areas within the curriculum
Teachers are available daily to answer questions about the tasks so if you need assistance, please send a message to them and they will respond as soon as they can. On some days staff are in school supporting the children of key workers so responses may be slightly delayed.
If you would like to supplement your child’s learning with the ‘Oak Academy’ tasks the link is:
Click on the classroom tab and then choose tasks by subject or day. Each day there is an English and Maths task as well as one from another subject area. The topics covered in other subjects may not be the ones we cover in school as the National Curriculum is implemented differently in every Primary school. We will help give advice in any way we can but we ask that the DoJo tasks are completed as a priority.
We look forward to seeing all the work our children are doing at home. Good Luck!
