My name is Vicky Cornwell and I am the Acting Deputy Head Teacher.
I started working at Chilton Primary School as Miss Wall in 2000. I came as an NQT and have been here ever since. I have worked in various year groups but must say I love working in Early
Years. In Nursery, it is extremely rewarding when the children learn to recognise sounds, count and write their names for the first time and the look of pride on their face means so much to
In 2007, I got married to Darren in Bali and became Mrs Cornwell. I have two daughters called Olivia and Maisy and when I get home from work on an evening, Maisy likes to play schools
but I am usually the child not the teacher! We love our family time and enjoy going on adventures to the Lakes, travelling abroad to different countries and just doing as many new
and different things we can together.
In my current role I have a range of responsibilities – lead for EYFS, SENDCo, Assessment (EYFS), Teaching and Learning, Standards and PSED Lead. In 2008 I completed my Masters in Education at Sunderland University as I enjoy learning and wanted to reignite my own personal development whilst challenging myself.
Chilton Academy holds a special place in my heart and I look forward to our exciting future.
