Science week 11th March – 20th March 2022
Science Week (11th – 20th March 2022)
This year we have seized an amazing opportunity to work on another project with scientists from Durham University to inspire and engage our pupils in science!
Last year, children from year 5 + 6 worked remotely on a project to create a series of videos to promote science and work as a Science Ambassador! They had training sessions to work on their presenting skills, teamwork, filming skills and animation to aid them in creating their project!
This year, on Thursday, we will work on a much larger scale with a professional film crew in school! Children in KS2 will have an interactive science day to help train them as Science Ambassadors for our school and encourage other young people across the country!
All KS2 children will spend the morning working in groups to create a project and have a session on developing presentation skills (helped by some of our Yr6 experts!)
In the afternoon they will work in their groups to present their mini projects with some being filmed to create a suite of online resources to support other teachers and young people about developing young Science Ambassadors!
Children in KS1 will also take part in a series of science experiments and investigations through the day which they will share with their class!
Please note: only children who have returned their permission forms with consent to take part in any filming of interviews will be filmed. Other children will still fully take part in the day, just without being filmed.
