Anti Bullying Week
This week is Anti-Bullying Week 2019 . We have a range of activities planned for in classes and a series of assemblies to discuss the importance of developing friendships and positive relationships. The aims of this week are to help children and young people, school staff, parents and other professionals who work with children to understand that whether it is verbal, physical, online or in-person, bullying has a significant impact on a child’s life well into adulthood. If we work together and make small changes, we can make a big difference and break this cycle to create safe environments for everyone. A central focus of our discussions this week will be celebrating everyone’s individuality. Developing acceptance from an early age is an excellent way of preventing bullying from happening in the future as well as raising awareness of this issue. On Tuesday 12th November, we will be celebrating everyone’s differences. We are therefore taking part in “Odd Sock Day”, All we ask is for children to come to school in odd socks. If you have time you may want to decorate your socks – if not just come to school in your brightest socks – but don’t forget to make them odd!!
Remember – everyone is different and that is what makes our world such an interesting place to belong!
