At Chilton Academy we are all Artists
Rationale
At Chilton Academy, we believe Art helps children to say what cannot be said in words – “a picture paints a thousand words”. When children are asked to talk about a piece of art work, they must reach into their poetic capabilities to find words that describe how it makes them feel.
Art can be therapy for many and provides pupils’ with opportunities to express their inner thoughts and feelings in an unobtrusive way. Art can tell us stories about the past as well as help us to make predictions about our future. You will see children engage with different media, explore colour and pattern, work in 2 and 3 dimensions and research some of the famous artists of past and present as well as those important to the North East.

The Lumiere Event (in conjunction with the Chilton Academy Friends) was again a very successful celebration of art and light.
