Rationale
At Chilton Academy and Nursery, we are Geographers! We believe Geography stimulates a sense of wonder about the world.
Through the study of Geography, children are better able to make sense of a complex and changing world and their place in it. Children will build on and expand their personal experiences of natural and cultural environments. Our Geography curriculum aims to equip our children with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes.
You will witness children asking and answering geographical questions, undertaking fieldwork investigations in different locations outside the classroom. They will have a clear understanding of the connections between people and places and link their prior learning to help them deepen their understanding, make future predictions and answer, “What if…?” questions.
