School were successful with an AAP bid to create a wonderful space housing a remembrance garden.
The money helped us purchase bespoke benches – they are carved with special messages written by Logan, the winning pupil chosen from a competition held in school
We invited Councillor Bruce, Mayor of Chilton and Mrs Potts (Chilton County Councillor at the time of the bid), Stuart (Junior Mayor) and Logan to the unveiling of the area. A small ceremony paying tribute to the fallen was observed.
Throughout the year the children can use the garden as a quiet area to spend time reading and reflecting.
The Remembrance Garden acts as a focal point for the school during the annual period of remembrance. The children and staff are encouraged to visit the garden and spend time decorating the garden with poppies marking the lives lost in the line of duty over the years.
