Governor – Mrs E C Bruce
I have been a member of the school governing body for 10 years and currently the Chair of Governors.
For the past 52 years I have lived in Chilton with my husband Alan, I have two daughters, who both attended the school. My granddaughter currents attend the Academy.
The village of Chilton has developed and grown greatly within the last few years . I have represented the town as a Town Councillor for the past 14 years – I am also a Trustee of Chilton Miners Recreation ground which offers a variety of activities including bowls, tennis courts, croquet and play areas.
The Academy has a new Headteacher, Mrs Carrie Dodsworth who has bags of enthusiasm and a vision for the future of the school. I look forward to supporting her and all the staff on this exciting journey. Before COVID-19 I volunteered in school and saw for myself how hard the staff work to help the children grow and develop their skills in a safe and happy environment.
It is lovely to see the children back in school – albeit with certain restrictions in place. However, I am sure as we return to some kind of normality the children will continue to thrive with such outstanding role models within the school environment.
