At Chilton Academy we recognise that the internet offers a wealth of opportunities for supporting children’s learning and allowing them to communicate and work collaboratively. As children move up through the school their access to various types of technology increases and it stands to reason that their exploration and curiosity increases too. The positives of the digital world overwhelmingly outweigh the negatives but children, schools and parents all need to be aware of various online risks.
Keeping children safe on and offline is of the highest priority for us as a school. Our Computing progression of skills ensures that in every year group children are taught about how to keep themselves safe online and how to report concerns.

- O2 NSPCC Net Aware - UK Safer Internet Centre - as the number of apps and social media channels your child could be exposed to grows all the time, as does an app's functionality. We recommend you visit Net Aware to read the latest and most current advice on over 70 apps to ensure you know what they do, how you can limit their features as well as recommended age restrictions.
